Cunningham skinks can vary in colour from dark browns to reds and black. They have keeled scales and puff up their bodies to appear intimidating when threatened. They have short legs which require them to slide along their belly when moving.

Cunningham skinks inhabit forests and woodlands that provide rock formations with crevices to live in.

WHAT THEY EAT

They are omnivores and their diet includes insects as well as vegetation that flowers or bears fruit.

BREEDING

Cunningham skinks are viviparous which means they give birth to live young. Litter sizes can range from 1-11 lizards which will often stay within close proximity of their parents, it is believed that cunningham skinks can identify closely related lizards and avoid these as partners.
